A sports scientist by background, Ulrich has hired and advised leadership teams internationally and across many sectors, ranging from start-ups to the FTSE 100.
He acts as a sounding board to Directors and professional athletes in regard to career transition, and is also an author.
Emma delivers non-executive and senior leadership executive search, crafts leadership team coaching solutions and designs strategic talent initiatives for a wide range of organisations.
A neuroscientist by background and with more than 20 years’ experience working with inspirational leaders internationally, Emma is also a Director of Areté Ventures.
Areté means achieving accountable, personal excellence, and is focused on finding, unlocking and empowering exceptional talent for the future success of global organisations.
They range from fast growth investor backed insurance businesses through to global investment management firms and FTSE100 companies.
She is an advisor to CEOs designing and implementing private equity value creation plans, in particular the talent and leadership phases.
Emma is also an honorary lifetime member of the Institute of Risk Management for her contribution to the UK risk management industry as a headhunter.
She recently spent three years as a Board member at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, where she was responsible for helping define and execute international strategy.
Roger is a highly experienced coaching psychologist who has worked with senior leaders across a range of organisations in the insurance industry and beyond.
He believes his role is to assist his clients to develop awareness of their habitual patterns, developed in early life that have brought them success but can also have a shadow-side.
His clients are mainly senior C-Suite leaders from organisations including Willis Towers Watson, Ed Broking, Janus Henderson, eBay, the ABI, Flood Re, the House of Commons, the NHS, and BP as well as leaders from other diverse organisations in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Roger works by bringing together compassion and empathy balanced with provocation and challenge. He employs a psychologically-grounded approach that is also informed by several years’ experience of working as a leader in a corporate environment (in T Mobile UK).
Sue Colton MA, CPBP, MCIPD
Sue provides services relating to all aspects of the psychological contract at work, with specific expertise in strategic HR management and occupational psychology. A Business Psychologist (CPBP) with the Association of Business Psychology (ABP), she is a qualified behaviour assessor and psychometric tester registered with The British Psychological Society (BPS) holding the EFPA accredited European Test User Certificate in Work & Organisational Assessment. She has access to all the most widely used instruments available, covering both ability and personality assessment tools. She frequently delivers behaviour assessments for both selection and development purposes, primarily of C-Suite level candidates, across all sectors and industries.
Sue also holds an MA in HR Management, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD), and has many years of blue-chip experience in Organisational Development and Change Management, having previously worked at KPMG and NatWest Group. She devises methods, policies and processes to motivate employees, measuring behaviour and aligning individual goals to the strategic intent and development of the business. This has included for example designing employee engagement methodologies, staff opinion surveys, job family modelling, competency framework design, assessment centre design and delivery, pay and reward structures to name but a few, to both private and public sector clients of all size.
Alex makes it all happen. She works with the Sand Partners team and is most focussed and efficient in her PA support.
With over 18 years experience delivering senior-level executive assistance, Alex now runs a virtual PA service for busy entrepreneurs and professionals looking for flexible business support.
